What is proofreading and how does it work?
Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process. The translation is re-created in the final format (mostly PDF in the case of document translation), and a native translator checks the translated document against the original focusing on grammar, style, punctuation and spelling corrections. The proofreader makes comments in the document suggesting final changes and then returns it to the desktop publishing specialist who applies these corrections.
